Operations Vacancies

Our Operations team co-ordinate and project manage the Audio Visual element of our contracts. The team consists of CAD, System Designers, Installation Engineers, Project Managers and Project Engineers all working together to ensure the Clients needs and business requirements are met efficiently. Our Operations Division have a structured development program in place, that provides Engineers and Technical staff the opportunity to progress further within their career at AVM.

Test Engineer

Location: St Margarets

Overview         
The Test engineer will be working within the Technical team based at the St. Margaret’s office and will be responsible for providing Test / Commissioning support to the Project Management and Technical team.

Role and responsibilities:

  • Set up, commissioning and staging of completed systems within the production area
  • Technical support to the design teams on equipment rack construction and testing
  • Ensure rack equipment to be purchased is correct for the work
  • Issuing of supporting documentation and detailed technical drawings for completed racks and staged systems
  • Assisting the management team on prioritizing the rack production work
  • Support system designers where required
  • Commissioning of systems on site where required

Skills required:

  • Technical knowledge of AV & VC equipment
  • An up-to-date understanding of the AV marketplace and related technologies
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Office including Excel and Word
  • Ability to apply lateral thinking to problems

 

Installation Engineer (Midlands)

Location: Midlands

Role and responsibilities:

  • Nationwide and international delivery and installation of clients specified solutions including Video Conferencing, Creston and AMX control systems
  • Working closely with the Project Managers and the Installation team to ensure that installations are carried out within the specified time-frame and guidelines
  • Liaising with clients for feedback on installations (signing of handover certificates, Client feedback forms, etc)
  • Provide feedback to the Installation Manager regarding specific installations and client issues on site
  • Ensure vans are in good working order and stocked with correct level of consumables
  • Maintain good relationship with clients

Skills required:

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Technical understanding of AV and VC equipment, functionality and installation processes

Project Manager

Location: St Margarets

The Project Manager will be required to lead a portfolio of projects being responsible for the successful project delivery within the Corporate, Education and Public Sector teams.  The role will be based in the St Margarets office however with clients across the UK you will be expected to travel to attend client sites on a regular basis.  You will work as part of the Operations team to assist with managing every aspect of projects from pre-sales to sign-off ensuring that high standards of customer service are met throughout.

Role and responsibilities:

  • To ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget and to the satisfaction of the clients
  • To manage, monitor and control the project budget, identifying resources required
  • Coordination of project personnel and subcontractors for the duration of the projects
  • Production of project documentation, such as method statements, risk assessments, project plans, system schematics, handover documents, action plans, progress reports and project review summaries
  • Liaison with AVM / Matrix Account Managers, Clients, Third party suppliers and Contractors
  • Weekly Project Financial reporting to the Commercial Director

Skills required:

  • Experience of managing large scale projects
  • Experience of managing project budgets, project values in excess of £250k
  • Knowledge of MS Projects

Service Vacancies

AVM has one of the biggest dedicated Service Departments in the industry by both staff numbers and revenue. It consists of field engineers, onsite technicians at our managed services sites, as well as our support and helpdesk teams.The Service Division supports all brands of presentation product including preventative maintenance, emergency call-outs, loan equipment, 24 hour emergency support and onsite support from our outsourced facilities management service. We also offer dedicated operational support on client premises with managed services including VC call set up and management, additional support during busy periods, helpdesk support, service and maintenance and remote systems monitoring.

AV/VC Onsite Technician

Location: Client's site

Overview:

Supporting the requirements of the business by providing technical operational support of Audio Visual and Video conferencing equipment and systems at the client site. 

The role:

  • Responsible for the delivery of comprehensive, efficient and error free service provision that meets the needs of the firm, covering both internal / external clients and customers within client facing and internal meeting and training rooms, without supervision with regard to the following services
  • Customer liaison and co-ordination of audio visual (AV) presentation, videoconferencing (VC), sound system, lighting and IT training room requirements
  • Room and event set-up and duration support
  • Fully competent in the setup and use of equipment and presentation (data/LCD projection, sound system, integrated control systems, VC dial ups, notebook pc/MS Powerpoint (including adding graphics, sound and movie clips), Apple Mac and software, still and video cameras)
  • Presentation, videoconferencing , teleconferencing, media editing and meeting room and/or training room setup support, recording and display of live events, Wifi support and printing support to the firm's clients and customers (including non-standard hours working)
  • Equipment support and preventative maintenance of equipment and reporting of failed equipment
  • Management of equipment booking using the firm's standard procedures
  • Hardware Ordering in accordance with the firm's policies.

Skills required:

  • Engineers must have a good background within the Audio Visual & Video Conferencing industry

Overview

Backfill Engineer

Location: London

The role:

  • Ensuring that the audio visual equipment is tested and in correct working order on a daily basis
  • The rigging, de-rigging and storage of any mobile audio visual equipment upon completion of events & ensuring that spare equipment is maintained and stored in a tidy and accessible state
  • First line fault finding and routine maintenance on audio visual equipment
  • Communication of any defects, detailing the symptoms presented and subsequent actions taken to localise any defect
  • Brief clients in the correct operation of audio visual equipment required for meetings
  • Testing and connection of LAN, ISDN and ADSL lines to equipment
  • Providing technical support for onsite events
  • Communicate any foreseeable problems to management at the earliest opportunity

1st LineTechnical Support

Location: St Margarets

The role:
  • Answering incoming calls within an appropriate time frame, to a high level of customer service.
  • Active participation in team communications and activities.
  • Logging calls accurately and to AVM standards, in the Call Management system.
  • Managing tickets through to resolution, ensuring all updates and relevant communications are recorded, and passed to the relevant internal support team.
  • Making outbound calls to customers and 3rd parties ensuring all the relevant information is passed on and logged.
  • Escalating to internal departments and within the SLA if the fault is outside the support scope.
  • Updating the end user and ensuring all relevant parties are kept in the loop at all times.
  • Informing key personnel within the Service Desk of any High Priority calls.

Skills required:

  • Excellent communication, drive and decision making skills.
  • A team player is essential.
  • Either Experience with Smart board, Promethean board and projectors or AV conferencing systems including Polycom and Tandberg would be beneficial.
  • Previous experience with managing warranties and logging RMA’s with manufacturers would also be beneficial.

AVM's sales teams are based nationwide, covering all areas of the UK. They comprise of professionals with specialist experience and knowledge in different sectors and product areas. Pre Sales Engineer

Location: Leeds

Overview

The Pre Sales Engineer will design and draft systems for jobs for the Sales team, prior to the handover to the Project Manager. It is essential that the Pre Sales Engineer ensures the quote is technically accurate before it is signed off. The role will be based in our Education Sales team, which is located in our Leeds office.

The role:

  • Design and draft systems for jobs prior to handover for delivery to client.
  • Provide technical support to Sales team throughout sales process.          
  • Ensure equipment to be purchased is correct for the job.
  • Provide basic concept drawings for quotes by sales team.
  • Provide supporting documentation and detailed technical drawings for projects that have been sold.
  • Support sales team during site meetings to confirm clients’ technical requirements and assist with specifying products.
  • Develop CAD standards.

Account Manager

Location: St Margarets

Overview

The Account Manager will be responsible for prospecting and closing sales opportunities for the products and services offered by AVM within Corporate accounts.  The role will be based in the St Margarets office however with clients across the UK you may be expected to travel to attend client sites on a regular basis.  You will work as part of the Sales team to achieve the sales target ensuring that high standards of customer service are met throughout.

The role:

  • Develop new opportunities for the sales of meeting, board and training room integration projects with existing clients
  • Consistently deliver an on target performance against assigned monthly GP target
  • Accurately forecast current month and 3 months pipeline of business opportunities including sales revenue and expected GP
  • Systematically target Corporate accounts using the “Solution Sales Model”, engage and profitably close all sales opportunities for product and services
  • Recognise and close all up-sell opportunities for product and services within the assigned Corporate accounts

Showcase Manager

Location: Clerkenwell

Role and responsibilities:

Constantly develop the experience of visitors to the showcase, including incorporating:

The case for partnering with AVM

The case for using AV technology to enhance the collaboration experience for group environments

How these personal UC technologies can integrate with the group environment

Examples of specific applications of this enhanced collaboration environment

Other visual collaboration tools (digital signage, digital content creation, access and distribution)

How all of the above can be provided on a managed or hosted managed basis

Develop a training programme for our own sales team so that they can fully participate in demonstrations and fully understand the benefits of the products and services that we are Showcasing

Develop a specific demonstration / training programme for the sales teams of our indirect partners, which may include building custom demonstrations that tie in with the partner’s own business focus

Work with the vendors who have participated in the Showcase to help their sales teams bring interested parties into the Showcase

Manage the rest of the Showcase team and partner with the sales team and with the appointed technical support resources to ensure we deliver an excellent experience

 Collate feedback from all those that have visited the Showcase so that Product Management and sales can benefit from it

Overview:

  • Audio Visual Machines requires a CCNP Voice experienced professional for integration into our Unified Communications team.
  • Duties will include installation of Cisco (Tandberg) videoconferencing infrastructure and integration with Cisco UC environments as well as training of internal staff.

Skills required:

  • Cisco Voice experience (Cisco VOIP technology's)
  • Full understanding of Call Manager (CUCM) and PABX Technology
